Moms with adhd gathering for support ADHD Moms Parenting ADHD Kids

Thrive Together- The Family Table

"Good food. Real conversation. Finally, a room full of people who get it."

A private lunch experience for mothers who are raising a child with ADHD who are tired of feeling behind, overwhelmed, and alone in their parenting.

Get Your Seat At The Table

You love your kid more than anything.

And some days, that love is the only thing keeping you from completely losing it.

You've read the books. You've tried the charts and the timers and the reward systems. You've sat in waiting rooms. You've fielded calls from school. You've stayed up too late researching and woken up too early worrying.

And on top of all of that — you're managing your own ADHD brain, which was never designed for the relentless executive function demands of modern motherhood.

You are not failing. You are exhausted, underresourced, and desperately in need of a room that feels like it was built for you.

That's exactly what The Family Table is.

The Family Table is a quarterly, intimate dinner gathering in the South Bay for moms with ADHD who are raising children with ADHD. It is not a support group. It is not a seminar. It is not a networking event.

It is a table. A real one. With a good meal, a guided conversation, and a room full of women who understand your life from the inside out.

Hosted by Michelle Tangeman — Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst — each gathering centers on one meaningful theme and leaves you with something you can actually use: a new perspective, a connection that lasts, or simply the relief of feeling deeply understood.

What to Expect

Each Family Table gathering is designed to be the kind of event you'll be thinking about a week later.

An Intimate Setting Only 25 women per gathering, hosted in a beautiful private home in Palos Verdes Estates. Small enough to have real conversations. Curated enough to feel special. You'll sit down to a thoughtfully prepared lunch. A real meal, because you deserve to be fed. Michelle opens each table with a focused theme — something drawn from the real questions and challenges she hears in her clinical work with ADHD families. Think less panel discussion, more dinner party with an expert friend who's also your guide. Every woman in the room is navigating a version of your life. Come together and connect.

Meet The Professional, Michelle Tangeman LMFT, BCBA

Michelle came to this work the long way. As the daughter of a father with schizophrenia and a mother who immigrated from South Korea, she understands from the inside what it means to love someone whose brain works differently — and to build a life anyway.

Michelle is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst with more than a decade of experience supporting children and families across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. She is the founder of Thrive Together Child & Family Therapy, a private practice in the South Bay specializing in neurodivergent children, ADHD families, and maternal mental health.

Her path to this work is both professional and deeply personal. She grew up in a household shaped by serious mental illness and cultural transition — experiences that gave her a profound understanding of how families carry complexity and still find their way. That background informs everything she does.

Michelle writes for Psychology Today, LA Parent, and several national outlets. She hosts the Parenting Understood podcast.  She is interested in being supportive, encouraging, and providing evidence-based practices to the families who need her most.

She created The Family Table because she kept seeing the same thing in her clinical work: moms with ADHD who were brilliant, resourceful, and profoundly isolated. She wanted to change that — one dinner at a time.

This Evening Is For You If...

You have ADHD and are raising a child who does too. You're craving a community that doesn't require you to explain yourself from scratch. You want practical insight, not just validation (though there will be plenty of that too). You're tired of parenting content that was clearly written for someone else's brain. You live in or near the Palos Verdes Peninsula / South Bay area. You believe that sitting down to a good meal with the right people can actually change something.

The event will be between one hour and thirty minutes to two hours.

Food is included. Water and iced tea will be provided. No alcohol will be served.

Absolutely. Many moms discover their own ADHD through their child's diagnosis. This is an incredibly common entry point. Many of you might self-identify, or in the process of being evaluated. If you are a parent parenting a spirited child, an autistic child, or a child with developmental delays, this dinner is still for you.

This is an opportunity to gather, but it is not therapeutic; it is not a support group or group therapy.

This event, our first one, will be hosted in a private neighborhood. Parking

Slightly elevated. But most importantly, I want you to feel good in what you are in. Bring a notebook with a pen if you wish to take notes!

I understand things come up. A full refund is provided with a 72-hour notice. After the 72-hour window, you may have a credit for the next event. However, please note that the price of the next event may not be the same.
